POSSIBLY THE MOST DETAILED ARREST WARRANT AFFIDAVIT EVER WRITTEN
Arrest Warrant For Nancy Christine Styles For The Charge Of Murder
She dated Jack Nicholson and Michael Douglas, partied with celebrities, and traveled the world. Her and her two sisters owned Buttermilk Mountain and the ski resort that sits atop it. Now she’s dead, killed in her sleep, but by which one of the three prime suspects?
The Arrest Warrant Affidavit in this case from 2014 out of the State of Colorado is one of the most detailed, time-lined affidavits I have ever read, and I’ve read thousands of them. Pitkin County, Colorado Sheriff’s Investigator Brad Gibson must have kept immaculate notes during what was an active and difficult murder investigation.
It’s a long affidavit (38 pages), but it is a great example of all the steps, procedures, people, and resources that go into a murder investigation. Also, keep in mind this was in 2014, there are even more procedures now.
This case is full of odd twists and turns AFTER the couple was arrested and charged with killing the wealthy socialite Nancy Pfister, who, along with her two sisters, inherited Buttermilk Mountain Ski Resort when their parents died. Buttermilk Mountain sits on the edge of Aspen, Colorado, which is currently home to 50 Billionaires.
Read my follow up at the end of the affidavit for the status of those involved.
