THE LAVERGNE SEX SCANDAL- THE FINAL REPORTS
With A Twist No One Saw Coming!
After wrapping up all of the interviews and follow-ups, Human Resources Director and Investigator Andrew Patton wrote his final investigative report, which summarizes all of his findings.
AUTHOR’S NOTE~
It was only a matter of time before this situation blew up; A group of officers running completely wild, being led by a Sergeant who is just as wild, and much more conniving, as those he is charged with supervising.
At 99.999% of law enforcement agencies in the country, this would be the end of the story. But then again, 99.999% of these sex scandals don’t involve as many people as this one does, so it’s only fitting that this is NOT the end of the story!
You know, I’ve met A LOT of sorry, crooked ass people in my life, especially during my career as a cop and criminal investigator. I’ve interviewed, interrogated, arrested, and otherwise dealt with people who can, without question, be classified as the scum of the earth.
I was fortunate enough, however, that I never sat beside a Chief of Police for more than two weeks, who pretended to help me investigate his department, in one of the worst workplace sexual conduct investigations to ever hit this country, all while he was part of the very group who was being investigated.
There is zero doubt in my mind, that the Chief impeded parts of the investigation, and passed along information that he learned through the interviews to other involved officers.
However, the officers involved in this mess, were not the only people who are guilty of wrongdoing in the City of LaVergne, Tennessee. Perhaps the most despicable thing that came out of this investigation, is that the Mayor, Jason Cole, the elected “leader” of the residents of LaVergne, refused to cooperate fully with the investigation.
If you look at the bottom page of page 12 in the footnotes, you will see the Law Firm’s Investigator’s notes about the Mayor not cooperating. That fact says more about the culture and atmosphere of the LaVergne City Government than anything else that came out of this fiasco.
The people of LaVergne, Tennessee deserve better and I hope someone with a voice in that community calls him out on it.
